Air Blows On Floor Not In Front Vents

Had to play with the switch to get it to blow.

Where the air comes from when vacuum is lost the system defaults to the defrost mode. I have a 1991 s 10. It blows out the floor vent and the defroster vent but it won t change and blow out the dash vent. The air won t blow out the dash vents.

How to increase the airflow to one room. There is a motor that controls the selection of where the air. Problem started after a trip to south florida it was blowing on and off out of the vents but weak. Often this is experienced after replacement of the battery.

I get good heat and air conditioning from my front vents but when i select floor or defrost vents the air still only blows from front vents. Try closing some air vents in bathrooms closets and hallways to see if you get better airflow to the affected room. Any one know what i need to do to fix this problem.
